I have chestnut brown hair that is sort of a darker brown on the bottom layers and I was thinking of getting highlights but I'm unsure of which color I should get... I don't them to be too light though.Chestnut brown hair... highlight color???

blonde if your average, however, a redish purplish would be cool maybe??? i wish i had a picture.
your best bet is to go to the stylist that you feel most comfortable with. They can show you several options and help you to make the right choices.
At home tries usually send you to the stylist anyway so start there first.
