Any recommendations for good products to use on very dry and damaged colored/highlighted hair?

I had my hair colored and highlighted for around 2 years. About 3 months ago I dyed it one solid brown color. I got tired of that very quickly and went back to my original blonde highlights with base color. My hair is now very dry and damaged and I regret doing this to my hair, it used to be very healthy. Any suggestions on how to nurse my hair back to health will be appreciated.Any recommendations for good products to use on very dry and damaged colored/highlighted hair?
the BEST product out there for dry damaged, and chemically treated hair like yours is Joico K-Pac... it is a protein based product, and when we abuse our hair... we strip the protein from the hair.

check with your local beauty supply, right now Joico is offering their shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner in a package deal for a great price!

it will do wonders for your hair! just no more color for a while! : )

and if you use heat, use a heat protectant... many lines make them. they help eliminate more damage!

hope I helped!

check out this site, it will tell you all about it!

pantene restore conditioner get a coupon from the website, oil treatments ,trim hair every month,do not dye your hair anymore if you do stick with a color for a long time..you can also go to a salon store and look at more professional products and get answers there or from your hairstylist, try layers and angles all over it will give you more character.
use camellia oil
Don't hold me responsible but I have used MAYO as a heated treatment by heating small amt comb through warm wet hair wrap in plastic overnight. Rinse with warm water then wash and rinse use a conditioner of your choice if you need to. It worked for me and my sister but like I said your on your own....GOOD LUCK,,,,HOPE IT WORKS IF YOU DECIDE TO TRY IT...........
A sharp razor will work.
Redken All Soft works awesome. It makes your hair so smooth and silky. My hair was bleached blonde so many times, so it was super-fried and coarse. I used the Redken and you'd never know my hair was damaged before.
Try using Pantene Pro V. I have colored my hair A LOT, and that shampoo and conditioner works wonders on my hair.
I know how you feel. I've been coloring my hair for ten years! But to keep my hair from drying out more, I wash it only two or three times a week. Washing hair too often gets rids of the good oils. I also always use conditioner. I also don't wash out all the conditioner (I know doing that helps thick, wavy hair but oddly enough no other hair type). And of course it's good to trim your split ends. I know it's a pain, if you want to grow it long. But not trimming will only result in inches of totally damaged hair and then you'll have to get it cut. I learned that, the hard way ;_;

I dye my hair every 10 to 12 weeks, but I'm able to keep my hair in good enough condition. If you're thinking about quitting (hair dyeing), then that's great for you. Your hair will eventually be healthy like it was before. I'm afraid I won't be able to do that. Check that! I've tried to stop three times in the past two years...and failed.
Walgreen's has a product by Charles Worthington, I just happened to try it one day...And what a difference it made, now I buy it all the time. It's a glossing conditioner and shampoo, your hair will feel wonderful and you don't have to spend a fortune.
If you have a local herb store that sells in bulk, I reccomend the herb COMFREY. It should be very cheap because the plant is really a thriver. What keeps it so healthy and safe from enviromental wear is a substance : ALANTOIN, found in many shampoos. Also a hot oil treatment w/ olive oil should help, but if you can afford it jojoba oil is very much more suited for the needs of hair-- found at the health food mart. Leave it on longer than the average bear. Pronounced HOHOBA.
Get a VO5 hot oil treatment and see if that helps. It should do something for you anyway. After you do that, when you wash your hair, try to rinse it with cool water instead of hot water. The cool water helps to eliminate the hair getting too dry. Get a good conditioner and be sure to use it daily if you wash your hair that often. I know some say not to wash every day to eliminate dry hair, but I have oily hair and I have to...

good luck :)

Help with choosing the right type and color to highlight my hair!!?

I just went and had my hair cut yesterday and would like to have my sister highlight it for me. But I have no idea what color to use. I want some bolder color, blonde. I have dark brown hair to start and don't want to end up with orange!! So would I pick a darker blonde ash? Please help if you can!! Help with choosing the right type and color to highlight my hair!!?
an auburn colour or some lighter browns.

Help with choosing the right type and color to highlight my hair!!?
if you want blonde, your going to have to bleach the parts of your hair that you want the highlights, and then you can put the blonde color on.
I always high light my hair and just get the blonde hair dye, but as time progresses, it gets lighter... so just check on the dye and take it out not to late or else you'll get bleach blonde hair

I have light brown hair with natural blond highlight what color highlights would look nice?

i have blue/green eyes and tan skin. please help i m getting highlights tomorrow!I have light brown hair with natural blond highlight what color highlights would look nice?
I have had magenta (pink) streaks in my hair and it looked really nice, but it washed out in my hair because it is dark brown and i didn't bleach it first!!! it looked really nice though, and there is lots of nice colors you can get in your hair!! go to www.google.com and go to google images and then type in hair dye color's, and it shows lots of colors there. Good luck :)I have light brown hair with natural blond highlight what color highlights would look nice?
probably a different shade of blonde since you already have blond in your hair i would think it would look kinda strange to do anything darker
Well, if you already have natural blond highlights I would just maybe do some small darker brown streaks.
    copper highlights would look pretty
haha i hav same hair as u :]

i dnt think u shud get more highlights cuz the blond is already enough

I have a pink highlight on my bangs, what color hair clip should i wear to hold back my bangs?

maybe something to bring out out my green eyes? or would that clash with the pink?I have a pink highlight on my bangs, what color hair clip should i wear to hold back my bangs?
If its a hot pink, go with a vibrant purple. If its a soft pink, go with a lillac color.I have a pink highlight on my bangs, what color hair clip should i wear to hold back my bangs?
    something that matches your outfit.
    Gold.
    Black!

I am a female with light-medium skin. Does anyone know of a good color to die/highlight my hair to?

I have dirty blonde, almost light brown, hair. I've tried to die my hair lighter, but my hair always turns yellow/gold. I get very tan in the summer, which is coming up. I was also thinking maybe I should get something like pink or blue highlights. ( I would only get chunks at the bottom of my hair.)I am a female with light-medium skin. Does anyone know of a good color to die/highlight my hair to?
    light to medium skin

    hmm

i would say a light to medium brown with blonde hi-lights but dont go platinum blonde keep it simple at a beach to dirty blondeI am a female with light-medium skin. Does anyone know of a good color to die/highlight my hair to?
i dont know what color but STAY AWAY FROM BLACK!

it will make you look pale.

    what about like auburn?

    http://erw.wwco.com/auburn.jpg

thats what it would look like

    feel free to email me.
light-medium skin + black hair = kill me please ;)

color will depends on your age anyway
you should dye your hair dark brown with some golden highlights and some even darker lowlights.
A Caramel Shade all over with highlights of buttery blonde and honey colored lowlights would look good and go well with tanned skin.
Blue, pink, red, etc. in hair can be very unflattering most of the time.

I would get maybe light brown hair w/ light blonde highlights.

or dark blonde with brown highlights.

Something more natural than rainbow colors.

What color should I highlight my hair with?

Ok...I have brown hair, I have green eyes, and fair skin....what color highlights I should get? I kinda want peekaboo highlights, but then there are others I like too. Any ideas? Please help!

Also if anyone has a picture of someone with peekaboo highlights or where i can find one.....please help! Much appreciated! Thanks! What color should I highlight my hair with?
Definitely chestnut highlights - warmer than caramel but not quite auburn. What color should I highlight my hair with?
i think you should highlight your hair like a very light brown or dirty blond because if you highlight it any other color i don't think it'll match your eyes or hair color
Always you can do a strand test for yourself and decide what suits you best . More information at http://moreaboutcolor.blogspot.com/
    chesnut highlights.!!!!!!!!!
red it would look awsome on you!!
