Question about hair color and highlight?

I decided for my 20th birthday to try to do a change with my look. recently ive been experiementing with different hair cut styles. now im ready to change my hair color. i have a dark brown as my natural color.


I want to go more into a ligther brown a honey with some highlight. I heard of bleaching of the hair . i dont understand how does this work?Question about hair color and highlight?
I would just get highlights, with 2 different colors. I would have your colorist alternate between a nice light honey blonde, and a warmer caramel color. Overall, your hair will be lighter. Do not apply color to all the haie. If you want highlites then go for the full foil frost. After a week it'll blend and you'll have the lighter natural look that you want. If you lighten the whole head then you'll become a slave to every 6 week touch ups when the line of demarcation is preminent. Good luck.
Bleaching will basically strip your hair of all color. You may not want to do that to start with!
