How can i highlight a part of a photo in PHOTOSHOP leaving the rest of the photo in normal colour?

i have a photo with two people in it, i want to make the whole thing a certain dull colour, then have one of the two people left in the normal colours as they were in the original photo.





is this possible?

Make a duplicate layer


Desaturate the duplicate layer until it has the ';faded'; look you want


Erase anything in the desaturated layer that you want to have the original color. Use a soft-edge eraser.

I don't use photoshop but you might be able to copy one and take him out of the picture and paste him back on himself
