Im planning to highlight my hair soon. What color would look good on my hair?

My hair is pretty much black, in the light it looks like its brown or you see a little kinda dark blue in it. Im not sure why buts its like that. My eyes are dark brown, though my mom thinks its black. Far away it looks like I got black eyes but up close its actually dark brown. Any suggestions on colors?
